It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while, health system mistakes happen in my favor.

My doctor, health insurance company, and pharmacy got together over the past couple of months and provided me an unintended gift. This is a bag of Humalog insulin pens (probably about a years worth at my rate of use), and all the nice folks mentioned above decided it would be a great idea to provide these to me at an accelerated rate with a reduced deductible.

No, I didn’t say anything. That may make me a bad person, but it will be a relief knowing I don’t need to ration medication until the health insurance company decides I can have more, something that has happened in the past.
