This Still Hurts

When I got back from my Portland road trip. I was excited to review the images of all the places my son and I had visited. What I saw in those images was devastating.

Las Quatro Milpas (November 2024)

Las Quatros Milpas is an old-school mexican restaurant in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego, CA, US. Their beans and rice (w/chorizo) and homemade tortillas are divine, and I am often tempted to drive the 100 miles one way for their food.

Amboy (April 2025)

My son and I took a drive to Amboy, CA in March 2025. Interesting story of a stalled town regeneration attempt off of historic Route 66 in California. Not much here, but it made a great day trip.

Cortina’s Italian Eatery in Orange’s rustic take on a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. Toasted bread and rustic chop on peppers was really nice.

I am still amazed that a 2022 RAV4 (an SUV) is capable of 39 MPG while running 87 octane gas. I don’t mind going to the fuel station quite so much these days.

Auto-generated description: A car dashboard display shows an outside temperature of 75°F, a remaining range of 341 miles, an average fuel economy of 39.0 MPG, and an odometer reading of 31,171.
